About the Spurs

Spurs are usually decorated on one side, the outside of the spur.  The round thing at the end of the spur is called the rowel.  The rowel is what you spur your horse along with.  The little thing that sticks up above the rowel is called the chap guard.  Chap is pronounced 'shap.'  Cowboys wear chaps so they won't get chapped.  The little do dads that hang down from the rowel are called jingle bobs.  Jingle bobs were worn by single men to attract the attention of the ladies.  Remember the song... "I've got spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle, as I go riding merrily along, and they sing, on ain't you glad you're single".    Spurfect uses 9 different styles of real working cowboy spurs to make the "SPURFECT" line.  Any of the items can be made with your choice of spurs.
