Raymond L. Crouse
R. L. Crouse was born November 4, 1952 on Colorado’s eastern
plains. He has committed his life to recording
the history of Agriculture. Future generations will study
agriculture through the images recorded by R. L. Crouse.
The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art was awarded by Colorado
College in 1976. Northeastern Junior College, Sterling, Colorado, 1974
Associate of Arts Degree created the foundation for drawing &
painting skills. Year 2000,
NJC "Pathfinder Award" was named in honor of R. L. Crouse for
the artist's accomplishments in his field of study.
Today, the college years are still highly praised by the artist,
“… we were instructed to paint our environment! ”
Most students portrayed the beauty of the mountain landscape and
wildlife. Crouse painted the
mechanic working on an old tractor in his parents’ garage.
The artist now had found his life long subject matter while at
Colorado College. His senior One Man Show contained special subject
matter – it was 1976, the Bicentennial Year.
Case painted up a tractor in stars & stripes. The artist
recorded this in a painting. Other pieces that received praise included
landscapes and buildings from the Colorado Flatlands. Crouse
had only just begun his quest to record the Rural life in agricultural
machinery.
Today his art has been published on many magazine covers including
JD Journal, The Machine Shed, Angus Journal, just to name a few. Deere
& Company portrayed his art in John Deere Tractors & Equipment
1960-1990 history book. On
many occasions, Deere has commissioned Crouse to portray the Green Line
Heritage. Crouse
celebrated 20 years in his profession June 7, 1999 and continues to
portray the changing life of the farmer & rancher.
