Joelle Smith is a realist, working carefully in
watercolor to preserve memories of a lifetime spent with horses
in Oregon, Idaho, and Montana ranches. In today’s West, the
ranch horses, the buckaroos and the cowboys will soon be gone,
becoming part of history. Her paintings record their images for
